I love this kettle. It is a gorgeous colour, not as bright as it looks in the photo. It gives a bit of colour and style to the kitchen. Having had numerous problems with top of the range metal kettles I decided to give this one a go even though it is plastic. Glad I did - it is lightweight to hold, pours beautifully with no drips or spills and easy to fill with Brita jug. The on switch glows with a blue light when on. Have had it for 8 months and no problems whatsoever. Also much easier to keep looking clean and shiny than the chrome or steel kettles. Not too noisy either.

Annoying kettle 6 Nov 2011
This kettle is gorgeous - I bought it for the colour. I am disappointed in its functionality though. Once it is boiling it keeps boiling for longer than necessary, and you cannot remove it until it is finished or it will continue trying to boil when you put it back on the base. Also, you have to wait up to 15 minutes to re-boil it! Mine is currently in the repair shop (under warranty hopefully) as the on button won't stay on at all. It's been well used but I've only had it 11 months.

Great kettle functionally but it's not the same green as the Bodum Knif Block Bodum Bistro Knife Block, Lime Green which is a shame as I bought it to match. I much prefer the matt finish of the knife block but the kettle is a very cheap looking glossy plastic so it went back I'm afraid and replaced it with a simple stainless number which I would recommend. Kenwood SJM100 Moda Kettle, Stainless Steel

Because people buy Bodum for the style as much as functionality, I can only give it 3 stars.
