2.0 out of 5 stars Not that many tips for the 4 cylinder Bimmer owners..., 31 May 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: BMW Enthusiast's Companion: Owner Insights on Driving, Performance and Service (BMW) (Paperback)
At last the book you've been waiting for! Full of valuable insights on owning, maintaining and driving a Bimmer. However, as its written by members of the BMW CCA I think it suffered a little from a North American bias. Many of the products are not available at all, or available under a different name in Scandinavia, which makes things a little harder. Also, I thought there was too much focus on the 6-cylinder Bimmers. I drive a 318 and wish as many tips were given to us "baby Bimmer"-owners. Why not produce an European version? Perhaps in association with BMWCCE??

5.0 out of 5 stars Great coffee-table book, 24 Sep 2001
By Shane Ramey - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: BMW Enthusiast's Companion: Owner Insights on Driving, Performance and Service (BMW) (Paperback)
A great book which covers history of BMW cars, very specific technical details and troubleshooting, informative message posts, and very amusing comics. A very appropriate title. I wouldn't buy this as a service manual (though it does have some great tips, see the Bentley service manual if you need a great tech. manual). An excellent book which I am still enjoying.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for "old school", 18 Nov 2004
By Brandon Wehman - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: BMW Enthusiast's Companion: Owner Insights on Driving, Performance and Service (BMW) (Paperback)
This is a well established book with a very credible track record, however, it is misleading having the hood of a BMW E36 on the cover. The E36 is a modern BMW by all standards; this book has about three two-paragraph articles on that car while all the other stories and pages pertain to the E30 (1983-1992) and earlier cars. If you are the owner or if you are fascinated with how to work on cars older than 15 years, this book is for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book, by BMW enthusiass for all auto enthusiasts., 5 Dec 1998
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: BMW Enthusiast's Companion: Owner Insights on Driving, Performance and Service (BMW) (Paperback)
This book is a collection of articles written for the BMW Car Club of America magazine. It answers many questions about driving and maintanence of BMW automobiles. Much of the information should be of interest to anyone who enjoys a fine car and driving though, not just the BMW owner. It is full of many interesting topics.
