About the Author
Ulrich Cloesen has been involved in motorcycles since 1975. His passion began with a Maico MD50 road bike, and over the years he has owned several BMWs, Yamahas, a Kawasaki, and a Royal Enfield. He is most at home with BMW flat twins, on which he toured around Europe and New Zealand. The art of turning BMWs into custom bikes always intrigued him. Uli lives in New Zealand and plans to continue writing on automotive subjects.

This book is a fascinating selection of what can be done to customize BMW bikes. It's got massive amounts of pictures of bikes from around the globe portrayed and is an ideal coffee table book. Highly recommended!

4 stars on amazon's scale equates to "I like it". 3 stars is "It's ok". For me this book just squeezes into the "I like it" category.
It's great that someone has the passion and drive to put together something like this. However some of the photos are the type you might take yourself of your mate's bike and are not professionally composed. There are not really that many close ups either. There is some technical back up for some of the machines but it varies. Sometimes it is sketchy.
The quality of binding, print and paper is high.
Difficult one to appraise. I definitely wouldn't (and didn't) pay full retail price. But, discounted on the marketplace, for the price of 2 very predictable bike magazines i'd get the book every time.

I did like the few pictures i could see in the add. When i got the real book the foto's were not that special. I have red a lot of BMW books and magazines so a lot of pictures were known.

It is a great book with lots of pictures of all types of BMW standard and custom bikes over the years. It gave me lots of ideas for a custom trike of my own. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a history off all types of BMW motorcycles.

At last someone recognizes that BMW's get customized too! There's certainly some weird and wonderful machines in here and I hope that this book prompts another version or uncovers more custom beemers. A good first publication.
