Great Reviews Say it ALL!

"Wow, haunting, chilling and wild!

Wow. Get ready for your mind to be blown. I dare you to be able to put down this pageturner after you read the words "Phoenix is risen." Because by then you'll have met intriguing characters, some of whom seem to be going through wretched and dangerous transformations, and you'll be completely drawn in to the paranormal and horrifying world that is unfolding.

With great dialogue that brings the characters to life, Murray unfolds, taunts and seduces much like the gods at the center of her work. She plays with readers in doling out information and creating cliffhanger after cliffhanger--and it's really rewarding. Finally, a writer who knows what it means to be a storyteller, to keep readers drawn in with a combination of mystery, action and writing that is engaging and makes you care about what is going on. The writing is also haunting, at times lyrical (like when describing the longing and passion of the vampire Phoenix) and at times gripping (like when taking us along on Katherine's travails.)

If you've read Chariots of the Gods? or similar work, you might be somewhat prepared for this exploration, but even so Murray takes these theories to new heights. What if the ancient blood-lusting Sumerian myths are true, and what if humans were meant to be their slaves, but we ended up becoming their obsession and playthings because of the way we began worshipping them as gods? What if their next reign of terror were about to begin?

I loved a lot about this book. I loved the pacing. The passionate bloodthirsty scenes were awesomely portrayed, just tantalizing. The relationship between Ryan and Cross was incredibly well done. The plotting was excellent, highly skilled. Not all authors can move from scene to scene, point of view to point of view, so smoothly."

Blooded: (Anunnaki Rising) The Booded Saga by Lyn Murray

OK…. Wow! Where do I start with reviewing this book. First I have to state that this book is an intellectually written masterpiece that had me constantly guessing. I give it 5 of 5 STARS! I never truly had a grasp of what exactly was going on, and honestly that is what I grew to love about this novel!

If you thought Vampire Myths were fully discussed, written and screen played into movies, and there is nothing further to be said or discovered - you are very wrong.

This fictional allegory will shake your understanding of how the world works, and teach you how immortal beings have raised, shaped and manipulated our existence.

With an exciting introduction, we are teased with incredible possibilities and crazing theories, as the author has us standing on edge with each turn of the page, waiting for the action to unfold.

Forget the average vampire book you find on every corner - this is not a book for teens. Blooded (anunnaki rising) based on years of research, is set in a modern world so terrifyingly real, the reader gets chills when considering the possibilities, which are reinforced with fact based addendums that are hard to deny, in this masterpiece filled with "in your face" Vampiric Fallen Angels - the first in the series.

The writing is whimsical, the dialogues are refreshing - the reviews are astounding! You will experience terror at a completely new level."

More About the Author

A virtual recluse in her home, Villa Le Paradis Sur Terre, Lyn spends her days researching, reading, writing, and enjoying the simple things in life with her husband, like a good cup of coffee and quiet conversation. A pleasurable task made simple from the comfort of her lovely villa, the back of which is glass from floor to ceiling and overlooks a beautiful private lake that is filled with all sorts of wildlife that she and her husband delight in spoiling (feeding them the best corn and fruit). In consideration, I would say that if ever there was truth in a statement, Lyn is living proof that people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones . . . they should be writers.

Lyn is truly blessed, but her life was not always so charmed!

Per Lyn's request, Golden Panda Publishing supports The Salvation Army with a portion of the sale of her books; to understand why, visit her website at the link provided to get the whole story: http://lynmurray.wix.com/lynmurray#!lyns-causes/c1rgd

(>* ^ *<)

Lyn's main goal is to entertain; her charming writing style and compilations have tagged her books as the literary equivalents of "Dinner and a Movie"! Earning her the title as - the 'Dinner and a Movie' author.

She really does write for you!

She is fascinated by anything that has to do with the supernatural, the paranormal. This led her to become the author of Blooded [Anunnaki Rising], but she doesn't want you to confuse this book for just some young adult supernatural thriller with love triangles, vampires, werewolves, zombies, or dystopian societies. Blooded [Anunnaki Rising] blends the supernatural with what is perceived as mythological, historical fiction, [in which there may be more truth than fiction], while leaving readers considering the possibility that her spin on vampires might just be the real truth behind the legend.

A prolific writer of fiction, Lyn has more than a dozen books available for Kindle lovers everywhere, including two classic children's books in the "Little Book of Memories" series, which are also available in hard copy; and other fact based fiction novels that capture Lyn's diverse writing style that include horror stories, stories filled with mystery and intrigue, ghost stories, love stories, and more.

An intuitive, hopeless romantic, Lyn loves science fiction, horror, and spirituality (but she doesn't want you to confuse that for being supportive of mainstream religion). Her family has a politically rich history and is tied to the American Revolution. When she's not playing World of Warcraft with her son, researching natural healing methods, or feeding the ducks in her lake, she's spinning tales of mysterious What-ifs for you.

As always, Lyn's main goal is to entertain. It is her heartfelt desire that you enjoy her work.

God Bless, and never stop dreaming!

If it's anything like this novel, I'm not ready! Because Murray's world is terrifying in it's unpredictability. No one is safe. Convert or death are the only options. It's also chillingly believable. It's fantastic to find a writer who goes all in, who sinks her fangs in deep like Rice or the like backed by great intelligence. This is a find of a book, and I'm so glad it's a trilogy because that means more is ahead. But as Phoenix says, "waiting is the hardest of all life's tasks."

This is so very different than any other paranormal, vampire type story that I have read and that is what blew me away. I will state, it took me the first 20% of the book…… to really be able to grasp the authors writing style, but once I did…. I could not put it down! This is a fabulously written Paranormal, Horror type novel! LOVED IT! The authors writing style reminds me of The Passage by Justin Cronin and that was another novel that had my head spinning, but in a VERY good way! Loved this book and I cannot believe I have not heard of this one sooner! I cannot wait for a sequel, because the way this fabulous novel leaves off…. It scream a sequel! I need to know what happens with Steve Cross, Katherine, Ryan, and Carl’s characters! I grew to really love them all ….. from the scary “bromance” between Steve and Ryan’s characters to my love of Katherine and even Carl. I really love the way Lynn managed to make me feel as if I knew these four main characters thoroughly! I cannot go into too much detail for fear of giving too much away, but here are two of my favorite excerpts from the book…. When things started to click for me anyway  :

This excerpt is after Ryan is attacked by Steve and during that time he sees past visions to explain what is possibly going on with the overall plot of the story……he details his visions to Katherine and Carl (The doctors responsible for looking after Steve’s character at the beginning)…..

Ryan settles back into a more relaxed posture, and continued, “In the beginning, there was nothing, not even time. However, eventually, from within the nothing, there grew a void. It was vast! It isn’t clear to me, the difference between nothingness and the void, but one exists, and when it occurred, it created a vacuum. By its inception was the first spark of energy realized. It’s what Steve is. What God is! Pure energy! Time, as we know it – began then.
Eons past, when the energy divided, in its division, it became aware: awareness that created need, and need a longing. Longing that became desire….that eventually, was life.”
Silence had fallen over the room during Ryan’s revelation, a silence that was as easy to read in the faces of those who had been listening, as was the calendar on Katherine’s desk. A seemingly endless silence, until it was shattered with a word greater than silence itself.
“God?”
Knowing what Carl meant, Ryan said, “you could call him a god. In fact, we have many times throughout our history! He is immortal like God, from the same place, and of the same composition; but, unlike God, he lacks the power of creation, true creation in that he cannot create life where none existed. Only The Source, The Ultimate Creator has that power of creation. Steve and his kind can replicate or alter what already exists, like scientists, creating life in a test tube. They cannot create “the life force”. They can create through transformation, (create beings by rearranging DNA); they can transform themselves into whatever suits them; and can make others into beings like themselves. Steve is the King of his kind, but an outcast among immortals because he corrupted ‘the seed of creation’, and was cast out and left to wander through time – an immortal nomad, living in the shadows of life, between the Heavens, the Universes…..between the Hells, while his following awaited ‘the awakening’ to reconnect….and they draw near!

And this is another excerpt where Ryan is speaking to Katherine and Carl……

Again Ryan struggled to reason the unreasonable: “There are many Universes beyond our own, and all of them were created by ‘The Source” – the one true God. Imagine each Universe is a marble and the marbles are in a fishbowl, and all are contained within a great hall of fishbowls.”
“And, between…?” Cal asked
“Are the immortals; but through the passage of so much time – I’m talking eons, they began to think and act as Gods. In the beginning, the very beginning, there was a plan for life to evolve (throughout the Universe and beyond), but through the passage of time, the immortals, who were supposed to assist the development of life, strayed from the plan of creation, corrupting the plan, causing The Source, The Ultimate Creator, to come here in a human form – as His son – to set the record straight, get us back on track and following Him, to lead us away from the lies and deceptions of the immortal imposters who had set themselves up to be worshipped as The Creator!”

Like I said, extremely amazing concept, very different and very thought provoking as well! Check this one out! I again stress that I am giving this one 5 of 5 stars and for good reason ~ Check it out and you will see for your self! Lovers of Vampire, Paranormal, Horror genres....….read this one for sure. It is unlike anything you will have read before, I promise! The sequel cannot come soon enough for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fresh, Frightening Vampire Horror Novel 20 April 2014
By E. Lucas - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
“Blooded” falls within the vampire genre in that it is a book about vampires—but it doesn’t rehash familiar territory or fall into using stereotypes to create its action and suspense. Instead, “Blooded” gives a few nods to its predecessors (Bram Stoker, Anne Rice) and creates a wholly new story with a totally different kind of vampire.

At the beginning of the action Steve is a successful professional, a reporter at the Dallas Times—he loves his city, seems pleased with his life, and is only bothered by the weird premonitions he occasionally experiences and the terrifying dreams that sometimes haunt his sleep. After a minor car accident, Steve is attacked and “awakened,” and thus begins his transformation into an ageless immortal who may bring about Armageddon in a twisted plot of revenge against God. Katherine, the Chief of Staff in a New York hospital, is among the few who grasps what he is becoming—but her strength may not be enough to turn the tides and safe humanity from the end (or the beginning, as the narrator in the prologue points out).

“Blooded” is a complex novel, and sometimes I had a little trouble following it, to be honest (especially the last chapter). However, that doesn’t mean it ever failed to be entertaining or suspenseful, and at times downright frightening. Steve Cross is a uniquely terrifying creation, with the scenes where his humanity slips from him being some of the most disturbing—for instance, when he coolly murders Bonnie and April and then awakens to terror and confusion, knowing he is a killer but not understanding the why or how. When he fully transforms into his immortal self, he is almost irresistible to others—even those who try to oppose him—which is just as horrific in its own way. The backstory of the Anunnaki and their ancient role in history is compelling and creative, and I especially liked the character of Katherine in this novel. She’s standing up against almost unbeatable odds, especially the more she understands about Steve and then his friendship with Ryan, but she doesn’t give up or fall apart with fear; she stands strong and tries to do what she thinks is right. It’s nice to have a strong female character in a horror novel who doesn’t just serve as a character to need protection.

I would recommend “Blooded” to readers who enjoy horror novels, especially those dealing with vampires, and who are looking for a new and fresh spin on the genre.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fresh vein if you're thirsty for new Vampire lit 17 Mar. 2014
By Christine - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A fateful encounter one night after work upends the direction of Stephen Cross’ life. He’s possessed “the gift” for as long as he can remember, the innate ability to sense things, but he’s always tried to suppress it. Now his special gift is beginning to manifest itself in a new and terrifying way making it impossible to ignore.

He heads to New York on a special assignment where he is introduced to main player Katherine after a supernatural incident on the highway, before pairing up with an old friend and colleague, Ryan McDade. Thus begins the discovery of the evil truth behind Stephen’s transformation.

You don’t even have to be a fan of the vampire genre to pick this up, because if you’re fascinated with myth and lore, you’ll really enjoy Blooded. I’m having a hard time comparing it to anything I’ve read in recent time. The novel is lengthy, but never a drag because the chapters are short and quick-paced. The characters are three-dimensional and the dialogue reads like natural banter.

Overall, a unique and suspenseful read that is the first in a trilogy I look forward to completing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Intense yet a more detailed view into vampire fiction 23 April 2014
By Britt LaShea - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Before reading Lyn Murray's Blooded I thought I was well versed in the paranormal faction of Vampire folklore and fiction. Blooded definitely provides a brand new spin on things. Murray kept me in a constant state of suspense with Steve's character. You knew his sort of way of having dreams were paramount to the plot of the story. I could not put the book down. This novel is a far cry from the vampire movies that are currently out. No poorly botched romance to muddle the focus of the novel. Murray has a true talent in drawing her audience in giving just enough mystery and action to sway them one way and then "BAM" new information is presented to have you thinking a whole twist is added to the story. The main characters are so well crafted, just an overall great read. I cannot wait to read the other novels in this saga.
