What attracted me to this rangefinder is the price and the ability to use solar power built in it. Although it has a battery compartment (CR-2 3V), I have had not need to purchase the battery as leaving it on a windowsill it will recharge itself. After using it for over 3 months I have yet to see the low battery warning sign on the display.
So how it performs? Well... brilliant is the answer.
Just take it out of the supplied fabric pouch, which is belt attachable, switch it on, aim at the object to be measured through the the small LCD circle displayed in the viewfinder and press the button on top of rangefinder. Immediately you will see the distance in the pre determined units (Metre or Yards).
I use it for air rifle hunting and I find it invaluable.
The unit will switch itself off within 15 second after displaying the distance so there is no need to worry if you have left it on.
The minor cons that I can report is that the lens quality aren't as clear as a £1000 unit but is perfect for up to 400 metres. it is for measuring and not to take photos with LOL. I cannot see the readings at night as this model has no internal illumination. The only way to see the distance at night is to shine a torch at the object but it is visible in full moon if you raise the rangefinder towards the sky after you got the reading.
All in all a reliable, pocket size rangefinder well worth the price.
