A small and brilliant bit of kit to have for anyone who goes walking, camping etc. With a bit of dry material like cotton wool a fire can be started in even harsh conditions.

This is my first fire steel I have purchased and it is a great piece of kit for starting fires easily. After a few test strikes it generates a good, solid amount of sparks and lights tinder with relative ease.

Once you get the hang of this particular steel it is very effective. I would say that it works better for me than other models/brands I have tried. I had to persist with getting the particular technique right, but once you have the feel for it, it works extremely well - the sparks are obviously very hot and a large quantity can be generated in a focused and purposeful way.

Does exactly what it's supposed to!
Excellent product. The extra length of the spark-stick makes it perfect for striking sparks (once you get through the covering)

Lanyard crap and broke first use. Not an issue. All these type steels are supplied with a lanyard that's too short anyway. Read more

Very Good
great firesteel took a couple of strikes to get used to it and to get a good spark going but once your used to it, its just as good as the more expensive ones.

Great item - poor lanyard
This product is great and generates plenty of sparks. However the "secure lanyard" is very poor, broke on the first strike.

Dont bother buying any of the more expensive ones this is great no problems ive lost the striker so i just use the back of my knife its a great thing to have
