Product Description

FROM A SPARKLE IN THE EYE OF A FORMER ROAD RACER TO A BRAND WITH DISTRIBUTION IN 18 COUNTRIES 1967-1985 - Chris Koppert & Frank Moons, founders and owners of BBB Cycling, start racing bikes together at age six. For sixteen years all they did was ride and race. They ride in the same team, they compete against each other and even where part of the Dutch Team for some time. Both win national and international races. Chris even manages to claim a Dutch Champion in 1980. In 1985 they switched gears from racing to careers in the cycling industry. 1991 - Chris en Frank start their own business importing several cycling brands to cycling-crazy Netherlands. 1997 - After years racing their bikes the duo have very explicit ideas of what makes a proper bike product. They decide to develop their own under the BBB brand name and start selling them to local bike shops, using a shop-in-shop display to present the products conveniently. Among the first products you would find sport glasses, pumps and bar ends. And certainly shoecovers and wintergloves inspired by the notorious Dutch weather. Packaging, catalogues, and even some products, feature a denim pattern to reflect the timelessness of the brand. 1998 - Looking across the border, BBB presents itself together with its first distributor for Germany on the infamous Eurobike tradeshow for the first time. A twelve page brochure is enough to present a productline consisting of 36 items. 1999 - There are more people in the world looking for no-nonsense bike products that just work. BBB manages to secure distribution in 18 countries. Some of them just around the corner of our international headquarters in Leiden, Netherlands. Some as far out as New Zealand and Japan.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just right for the daily commute over winter 8 Feb 2013
By JJ
Size Name:43-44|Verified Purchase
I have used these almost daily for 3 months in some atrocious winter weather (including torrential rain, torrential road spray, snow, freezing fog), and they have mostly kept my feet snug and warm throughout. There was one occasion when the rain got in down the tops, but I think at least some of that was due to 'wicking' by the layer of clothing underneath.

They are starting to wear out now along the sides of the soles due to walking short distances between where I keep my bike and home/office, but based on the price I paid I am pretty happy with how long they have lasted.

And my treasured SPD shoes are in lovely nick ready for spring!

5.0 out of 5 stars They fit bigger feet too! 31 Jan 2013
Size Name:47-48|Verified Purchase
I was looking for some over-shoes to help keep my feet warm on long winter rides and decided to try these.

I was a little worried about the fit as I have size 51 cycling shoes (Shimano M087L MTB XC SPD Shoe Black) but these stretched easily to fit over them and they do help to keep your feet warm (they stop the air running through the mesh on the shoes) and also they keep your feet dry and shoes clean - I got home from a muddy ride a couple of nights ago and these were covered in mud but my shoes were lovely and clean.

They also have some nice reflective bits on the sides and rear which is great as I commute in the dark during the winter months.

Top product and I highly recommend them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Feet saviour 21 May 2013
Size Name:43-44|Verified Purchase
These really helped in the colder weather. They felt like they took the edge off the cold, so I was happy to use them. Must have been a few degrees anyway. They do not keep out heavy rain or big splashes of water, but do keep your feet dry in lighter rain conditions.
I took note of sizing comments and ordered to accommodate a 1/2 size bigger than my cycle shoes and they fit perfectly.
Overall I am pleased with these.
