This is a great little breadboard.. and when I say "little" I really mean it. It will be much smaller than you expect! If this is your first breadboard, then let me caution you about the size in general. In actual practical use, you can put together only the very tiniest of circuits with these. For example, it's just big enough and no more to create a DIY Arduino programmer with the voltage regulator, etc. When you try to squeeze as much as you can onto a little board like this, it get old fast!

If you plan on doing some serious bread boarding that require the use of lots of components then I suggest that you get the larger 800 tie-point board first. That should do you for a while! If you run out of space down the road and you want to purchase another one, then these boards do click together. But make sure they are made from the same company because each company is different!

What I did is get the large one and two small ones. I discovered that this is the best layout! A single small 400 tie-point board is actually really handy for most Arudino projects and some of the Arduino cases are actually designed to allow you to set a single 400 tie-point board on top of them.

These are great little breadboards.

Highlights: -

* They come in 3 pre-attached pieces (1x main breadboard and 2x power rails)
* The self-adhesive backing comes pre-attached and ready to stick the board firmly to something
* The pieces can be broken apart like a Kit-Kat (though you'll have to knife through the self-adhesive tape at the joins)
* The pieces can be re-attached to eachother in whatever combination floats your boat
* Multiple units can be joined together using the existing tongue-and-grove latching system

Lowlights: -

* They seem to be in short supply / great demand... Although the transparency of its sister product lets it down slightly (as it makes it harder to read the markings and the holes are less well defined than this unit), the following alternative unit is still a good bit of kit (and they're perfectly compatible too): BB400T Transparent Solderless Plug-in BreadBoard, 400 tie-points, 4 power rails, 3.3 x 2.2 x 0.3in (84 x 55 x 9mm)

Have been using these things for decades now, and this is a pretty good one. Some of them have springy clips inside them that stop being springy quite soon. This one has been with us for 10 months now, still working well. Reasonable value for under a fiver.
Recommended for experimenters and hobbyists in electronics.
Or you could use it as a very elaborate organised pin cushion? <grin>

Used continuously since purchase and has been completely reliable. Bought along with some very low cost jumpers with thin pins and still no problems. Recommended.

I mistakenly thought this would be at least 8 inches long as there is nothing to scale from in the product photograph, also the price of £4+ pounds I thought breadboards being so common would be relatively cheap. I've since bought one as part of Arduino kit. Unless you are thinking of creating a Strepsil (altiods)tin type electronics kit I wouldn't bother, great for a tin kit. hope this helps.

This board was purchaced to develop skills using a raspberry pi with external components. The board is clearly marked and should help my grandson develop his first programme and see the results of controlling digital using components assembled on the breadboard.

Small but does a good job.
You can join several of them if you need a bigger board.
Good connectors and well marked.

This is a great breadboard in many ways, and considering the value, is well worth a purchase.

I bought the board so I can do more pre-testing before making up circuits on proto board, and it is very useful to have. I would advice buying two to give you more room to work on larger circuits, and the boards can be fitted together to make it into one larger board.

This ability to be fitted together also means the board you receive is actually 3 separate boards, with the 2 power rails top and bottom and then a main center part.
