About the Author

Lynne Reid Banks was an actress in the early 1950s and later became one of the first two women TV News reporters in Britain. She is a bestselling author for both children and adults, and has written over forty books, including The Indian in the Cupboard, which was made into a major feature film, bestselling Harry the Poisonous Centipede and The L-Shaped Room. Lynne says writing for children comes more easily than writing for adults. "It's not that it is less demanding – I just find it more fun."

I borrowed this book from the library to find out whether my great-niece, aged 6, might like it for her birthday. I loved it so bought it and she loves it too!

Good cat, even better read! 17 Aug. 2011
By Julia Parker - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I don't get it. Here's the author of over 40 books, some of which have sold literally millions of copies and been made into movies -- you do remember the Indian in the Cupboard, right? -- and she's come up with another lovely family story ...and I haven't seen a review for it! There's a REASON she's so successful and Bad Cat Good Cat is one of them. Your kids will love it, I know mine did. Much of Bank's work is rooted in great characters and these cats -- left alone without those annoying humans -- are wonderful examples. The word 'good' and 'bad' are both human, of course, and without humans around cats are not so definable... I just think they do what cats do best, which is to get into all sorts of cat-tastic trouble. I believe the illustrator -- also very famous -- collaborated with Banks on another classic series, Harry the Poisonous Centipede, which I also loved. He's done a great job here. Highly recommended.
