I didn't know whether to send for this CD or not. So often I have bought them only to wonder why on earth I bothered. However, I am pleased that I did buy this one. If you are a true folkie who went to folk clubs in the 60s and early 70s I am sure you will enjoy this.

Don't expect top notch recording quality but I really don't think that matters, in fact it helps in the transportation process back to smoke filled pubs and village halls.

Appearances from Rab Noakes, The McCalmans, Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick just add to the atmosphere.

Enjoy!

I found this a brilliant album, took me back to my youth in the folk clubs.

Some of the tracks have poorer quality, but just being able to relive some of my youth was the key.

atmospheric return to that era of good folkclubs, surprsingly good standard of reproduction considering that it was an
amateur production for his own use.

Love Barbara's voice, and these recordings take me right back to my 60's 70's folk club days, Fantastic. The poorer sound quality than modern recordings did not spoil my enjoyment one bit. A must for "old folkies"

These two CD's capture Barbara Dickson's honest charm and excellent ability very well indeed. I have listened to them straight-through and have found myself relaxing and being uplifted by her powerful, perfect, voice. Her skills and ability are so well-founded, they shine-through and need no enhancement.
Barbara is the real thing. She is a real performer. Her voice warms my soul throughout. These performances are simply incomparable!

Purchased with trepidation and much to my surprise, throughly enjoyed. It could be seen there was a lot of talent even in those early years.

This CD was as advertised and sent in a very timely manner. Some of the recordings were not of the highest calibre, but it must be remembered they were old and from clubs. This is no reflection on the seller, more to be aware if used to modern CD's
