5.0 out of 5 stars Solid brackets at an excellent price 12 Jan 2012
Verified Purchase
We used these to secure a pair of Monitor Audio BX2s. They had been previously on top of a cupboard. The improvement to sound quality was impressive.
These are fairly heavy and bulky speakers. Nowhere near as heavy as the 25 kg limit of the brackets, true, but I was still wary of perching them on top of these. In fact, as long as you push the speakers right back on the platform, they remain stable enough to be secured solely by the clamps. You could secure heavier or more awkwardly placed speakers with screws: the brackets have holes for these and some self-tapper wood screws have been provided.

A few points to keep in mind:
- These speakers are 25-26 cm deep. The bracket's arm is much shorter than this. So, if you fix the speaker in line with the arm (that is, the bracket is fixed to the wall behind the speaker), the speakers will stick forward quite a bit and will need to be screwed in place to stop them from toppling forward.
- We avoided this by fixing the bracket to a side wall. When you do this, however, you cannot reach the clamp screw on the wall side with an ordinary screwdriver, so you will need to fix that half of the clamp before putting the speaker on the bracket. (You could in theory fix the speakers to the base before fixing the base to the arm, but that would need more than one pair of hands and a lot of fine choreography.)
- There are sponge pads provided for the clamps, but none for the base. So, you will need to devise your own solution. Good old blue tack on a few spots seems to work well.
- The nylon wall plugs that come with the kit are very poor -- but that's far from unusual: I have yet to come across any kits with decent wall plugs. Get your own heavy duty plugs before you start drilling.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well made 18 May 2013

Solidly made from substantial and neatly welded grey powder coated steel. This has slide on silver plastic back plates to cover the wall fixings and silver plastic front cradles for the speaker support plates. These cradles might be a slightly weaker part of the design but provided you don't seriously overtighten the adjustment bolt, should be OK. The makers claim 25kg capacity and most speakers that will fit the brackets will be way below that. The side clamps are foam padded and are strong enough to hold the speakers very securely without any additional screws into them. May be needed for bigger or vulnerably placed speakers though. The brackets were ideal for RS1's that measured 7"w x 10"d x 12"h and weighed 6kg. Easily levelled - horizontally and vertically. Backward/forward tilt only + - 7 degrees, which is fine provided you don't want them high up and pointing down.

These are superb wall mounts for speakers. They look smart, are easy to put together and are robust. Exactly what I wanted to get my speakers off the ground and on to the walls.
