1.0 out of 5 stars terrible film.... do not buy 19 Feb 2013
By adam
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
i often buy films and watch documentaries of serial killers and their cases and have normally found them interesting and enjoyed them.
sadly i can't say that for this film it is no closer to the B.T.K murders than it is to being Lords of the Rings!
after alredy seeing documentaries on the B.T.K killer i thought brilliant a good thriller film to do it justice only to be left wondering what the hell this film actually is... 1) the vicitims are barely accurate and some even made up which strips the away the point of this being based on the actual B.T.K murders 2) the methods in which the "victims" die are completely inaccurate since when did Dennis Rader shoot people and try chop someone in half with a spade? and 3) the way it's laid out it gives no information to who the first victim is or when he started i just had to assume that he'd already started killing home alone housewives and couples. All in all a massive waste of money as a serial killer based film and a very very cheap thriller film on it's own, if your buying it for information or in-sight on B.T.K then DON'T BUY!! but if you're buying it only for a thriller sort of film and have no interest in the actual factual events then mehhh! it's nothing special!

Pretty good little film on the exploits of Dennis rader in the same vein as the bundy and gacy films. Kane hodder who played Jason Voorhees in Friday 13th gives a convincing performance as Dennis.

2.0 out of 5 stars a poor film 26 Feb 2011
haveing read the book on btk and watched a tv program on the subject i thought for a man who took 30 years to catch, and how he wrote to the police and a radio station thinking he was untouchable, was not touched upon in the film, rather then the film being made with a start, middle, and finish, i felt it was a big let down, so many true stories on serial killers that have been turned into films [gacy, ted bundy, green river killer, jeffery dahmer.]have been in my opinion poor films.a trial at the end and the sentance he recieved , and the fact that he did a deal with the police to avoid the death penalty. some information at the end of the film in my opinion would have helped.having said that kane hodder in the lead role as dennis rader is a very good and scary performance

5.0 out of 5 stars '' Kane Piles Up The Kills '' 24 Nov 2011
After watching kane's ed gein movie, i was made up to see another movie featuring kane hodder as its main character, this time around its dennis radar another real life serial killer, kane offers humerous remarks to his ' victims ' as his spiral into his bizarre world unfolds. this movie has some real tongue in cheek moments which you find funny however, the kills are quite disturbing (at times showing some horrific scene's,) yet in one scene kane really pulls a truly remarkable performance off when his character realises what he has done! my wife hates torture movies like saw and hostel, and this is no exception either! for horror fans that like a movie based on the character and not duplicating what excatly happened its well worth a watch.

4.0 out of 5 stars lionsgate hit or miss 24 Aug 2011
Lions gate films are either hit or miss! do not get this film if looking for a film like SAW but get it if you like films like Boston Strangler and Babysitter Wanted, this one in my opinion is better than both of them

1.0 out of 5 stars shameful 12 April 2011
I bought this because I love true life crimes. I want to understand why people kill and for what reason, But this did not not offer any explanation of why Dennis L Radar killed. I have always enjoyed Kane Hodder in "Friday 13th" and I supposed that's why I purchased B.T.K but I was so so so disapointed. Even in the film his family didn't understand why - so how can they expect anyone else?? It was not shocking or full of suspense, as the back of the cover suggested. How could any respected film based on a true story be less than 84 minutes (think about it!!??) The writer and director Michael Feifer did not do his research enough. If your going to make a true life crime you have to tell the whole story if not visual (I understand) then written at the end of the film to explain why. It was poorly acted, poorly scripted. Don't waste your money on trash, i wish i had listened to previous reviews.

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT EVEN KANE HODDER COULD SAVE THIS!! 3 April 2009
This is without a doubt a B movie which did not impress me one bit not even the legend Kane Hodder could save this. Kane Hodder did play a good part but you can't expect one man to save a film that has been thrown together very quickly in somebody's garden shed. The acting was 6th form stuff from a drama class and the story was very weak. Nothing really happened that made you sit up and think that was nasty it really was a poor effort. I would say well clear of this and save your money it's not even worth a rent.

2.0 out of 5 stars Watchable I guess.... 19 Jun 2009
I don't really wanna bad mouth this movie.I know the director gets alot of stick already.I wouldn't say it's as bad as people have made out but it's not great either. It's just like an average slasher movie adding nothing new.I thought they also could have added Dennis Raders courtoom scene and had details of his conviction after the movie ends but it's just vague regarding those details.
