Did you enjoy 'Demon of the air' as much as I did? If so, by all means get a hold of this book because it is as good if not better.
'Shadow of the lords' picks up right where 'Demon of the air' ended (though you can easily read the former without having read the latter) and straight away Yaotl, that most unlikely of detectives, is back in the thick of action. Having Montezuma's Aztec empire as a setting makes it all the more colourful and exotic, though I'm convinced that Levack could write about any other period in time and place and carry it off.
Levack is apparently a former solicitor, and in my humble opinion the world would probably be a much nicer place if more solicitors turned full-time writer!
