Adventure, Romance, and a Touch of Humor 11 Mar. 2009
By Alexa Verde - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Aztec Security by Jerri Drennen consists of three parts: "Inventing the Abbotts," "Mauvelous," and "Caddy-Did." The characters in each of these stories are united by the fact that they work for Aztec Security agency, and each story has red-hot passion, chilling intrigue, and enticing characters.

Thorn Abbott and Ava Stanton is the couple that introduces us to Aztec Security in INVENTING THE ABBOTTS, and while Ava is gorgeous and very open about her sexuality, Thorn is more of a computer geek. But besides being smart and completely smitten with vixen Ava, he is brave, adventurous, and has a great physique. Of course, it takes some work - and one dropped towel - for Ava to notice that. While on the Aztec Security mission, they weave the net to catch the villain of international calibre. But will Ava become a beautiful butterfly to be caught in it? Not if Thorn has a say in it!

In MAUVELOUS, Aztec Security agent Mauve O'Connor is paired with Yancy Adams, someone she harbors feelings for. But now he is also an agent under suspicion of being a traitor to the organization, and Mauve is the one to prove his guilt - or innocence. She can't let her feelings cloud her judgement. And it doesn't help that Yancy seems to be tortured by memories he can't escape from. Besides, with their lives at risk, they need to concentrate on survival, not each other. But what if her heart had been telling her the truth all along?

In CADDY-DID, Cadence Fleming - Caddy to her friends - is a new recruit at Aztec Security agency. The dangerous life of an agent excites her, but she also has another motive for joining the organization - namely working side by side with seasoned agent, Yancy, the man's who touched her heart. The news about Yancy's upcoming wedding to Mauve breaks Caddy's heart, and on top of it, now her trainer is going to be Kent Jameson, a man who lives and breathes good times and doesn't seem to take anything seriously. Kent is not happy to train beautiful but uptight Cadence himself. A high-school romance with the girl of her kind - the one who looks down on the guys like him - left a chip on his shoulder. And he is not about to repeat the same mistake twice. That is, until he and Caddy end up alone at the agency's cabin to work through their differences. Will Caddy get over her feelings for Yancy to truly see Kent for the man he is? Will Kent forget about past mistakes and give Caddy a chance? And will they do it in time before a killer makes them his next target?

As the blurb promises, in Aztec Security, the heroes are to die for. And the heroines can hold their own when it comes to taking down a bad guy or proving their abilities. A fascinating combination of adventure, romance, and a touch of humor had me turning pages until the very last one.
