Called "the most significant addition to the body of Gestalt therapy literature in almost two decades," this collection of Yontef's writings encompasses the history and politics of Gestalt therapy, Gestalt therapy theory, field theory and the practice of Gestalt therapy including new chapters on treating people with character disorders and working with shame. Highly recommended as a training text and as a resource for graduate students and scholars.

Great contribution to psychotherapy theory and practice. Dr. Yontef's writing is practical, profound and precise. Each chapter stands on its own and is easy to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Important book for all Gestalt therapists and trainees 18 Feb 2009
By M. E. Bannister - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Although this book took a little longer than normal to arrive, it did so in perfect condition. As a long time Gestalt practitioner, Yontef updates Gestalt practice and encourages integration of input from other paradigms, while not losing the essential aspects of the subject.
