Rhea Hayes has achieved the seemingly impossible task of creating a book for young people about fruit and vegetables which is informative and educational, yet also light-hearted and fun. Its length is exactly right and its illustrations well-chosen so that the reader's attention is maintained. With childhood obesity rates rising so rapidly that future generations are likely to live less long than their parents, Avocado to Zucchini is probably the best present any child can receive. It is a vital addition to the primary school library and should be included in the school curriculum.
