4.0 out of 5 stars The Gang's All Here, 14 Feb 2005
This review is from: Avengers: Morgan Conquest (Marvel's Finest) (Paperback)
This short TBP has a very clear aim, set up a reason for all past Avengers to come together in order that a new line-up for the new series can be established! To say the very least in acomplishes this in style! In all 39 Avengers appear in the main story and the other former members either briefly appear or are at their status is mentioned! While the story is no classic due to the number of characters it has to deal with it is very well thought out and planned from using an alternate reality as a spoof of the disasterous Heroes Reborn storyline to each of the members reasons for wanting or not wanting to be in the new team. Also very important is the number of new storylines that its sets up for the new series from the Scarlet Witch's new powers, her ability to summon Wonderman back from the dead and her attempting to deal with her uncertain relationship with the Vision, to the teams' new reserves, the hint of future problems with Warbird and of course Hawkeyes' frustration at not being more involved with the decisions the leaders make about the Avengers future. It should also be noted that one of the few character developments this book has is the excellent portrayal of the relationship between Hawkeye and Captain America and we can start to see why Hawkeye later decides to take over the Thunderbolts!
This is a must have for all Avengers' fans or newbies to the title!

Excellent story! Excellent artwork! If that does'nt whet your appetite, how about over 30 heroes? This book is a true classic, with excellent storytelling. Whoever said comics were trash are proved wrong by this.
