In the glut of supernatural romances coming out in the last couple of years you come to expect much the same from all of them... this one gets top marks for managing to be different from the usual "supernatural guy has forbidden romance with just an ordinary every-woman." It's pacy, the tension is kept up, and Uriel makes for a compelling hero. There's a lot to like here

I loved this book, I seriously loved it. My initial foray into angel mythology books began with Becca Fitzpatrick's Hush Hush series, and I kind of fell in love with angels after that. This is hands down one of my favourite angel based novels I've ever read. Uriel (though I must say I never really like the name, sounds too close to something else if you catch my drift) was a fantastic character, along with the other three archangels. I love that they've integrated themselves into the normal world in completely normal jobs, near enough. Eleanore was a great character too, and I loved the over-arching plotline throughout the book. My favourite character though was Azrael, I just loved his brooding and darkness and overall can't wait for his book. But the storyline was amazing and unique in its twist on the angel mythology, and the characters were well thought out and developed. I loved this book and cannot wait to read more from this author!

After reading Steven Erikson's The Malazan Books of the Fallen [all 10] one after another I wanted to find a "lighter" read - I found Heather's books by chance and have whizzed through 4 in a week or so with others queued on my Kindle.
Fast moving with so many surprises it was difficult to find somewhere I wanted to stop reading and ended up with my eyelids giving up on me and my kindle saving the day by remembering my page!
My only complaint is I've found Heathers books at the beginning of 2 series and will have to wait for forthcoming books to complete the story... can't wait!
