Product Description

Danny and Elena are now working for the Firm, desperately attempting to track down the vengeance-seeking Black Star before more 'Angels of Death' suicide bombers are despatched. Elena is the key to discovering the bomb-master's whereabouts as she has already made Deep Web contact. The plan is simple - locate Black Star and kill him - at whatever cost. While Fergus is forced to remain in England, confined to a wheelchair as he recovers from his injuries, the hunt takes Danny and Elena to New York on a covert mission led by Marcie Deveraux. Despite Black Star's trickery and deception, the net gradually closes. Fergus travels to the US to help, but Elena is drawn into terrible danger, and only Danny can save her. Using the skills his grandfather has taught him and his own initiative, he must stop the avenging bomb-master from wreaking further destruction...

From the Inside Flap

Angels of Death

They bring death and destruction in their wake: influenced by their mysterious leader, known only as Black Star, vulnerable teenagers strap high explosives to their chests and blow themselves up.

Worldwide Suicide Bomb Threat

Maximum impact. Maximum destruction. London. America. Japan. Where will the Angels of Death strike next? Can they be stopped?

Hunt for the Bomb Master

Despite the fierce objections of his grandfather, ex-SAS explosives expert Fergus Watts, Danny and his friend Elena are sucked into an undercover operation to find and destroy Black Star. As the trail leads them to New York, the master of trickery and deception draws the teenagers into spiralling dangers as he seeks to take his revenge on the world.

The third book in the Boy Soldier sequence is another explosive, fast moving and thrilling adventure, packed with authentic detail from Andy McNab's SAS expertise.

A very well written third novel in an exceptional series of thriller/action books. I read the first of these novels ('Boy Soldier') to screen it before giving it to my 12 year old son, (the series being aimed at the 'teen' market,) but now we're both addicted. 'Avenger' is darker, deeper and even more thought provoking than the previous two novels of the series. The principal characters have developed in such a way as to draw us into their world, and to feel and live every moment of their complex lives, almost as if we were there along side them ourselves! Wonderful stuff!! A great read and a great series. Highly recommended for ages 12 to adult. A true page turner through and through! Thank you again Messers McNab and Rigby!! Roll on May '07 for the next installment!

An exceptional novel 20 May 2006
Format:Hardcover
Avenger, more than even the first two books in the Boy Soldier series, completely blew me away. Congratulations to the authors firstly for choosing to tackle such a controversial subject and secondly for doing it so well - their treatment of the suicide bombers theme is fundamentally sensitive and consequently the plot itself is even more gripping but also scarily relevant. I think this is a really important book for adults and young people alike and needs to be read. I can't wait for the next one - I only hope it won't be the end of the series.

WOW! 22 Mar 2007

What a terrific series this is, not just for teens, but for adults as well. Having read everyword McNab reads, frankly I find him manic depressive, but this series is brilliant. I suspect that Mr Rigby is the true brain behind it.

Looking forward to "Meltdown", but isn't Danny getting a bit old to be considered a boy? Puts one in mind of Harry Potter.

Well done - great thriller.

Bad start but a great book!
This book has a bad start; it feels like it is aimed at a child and that I am back at school, and the plot seems utterly implausible. Read more
