What more can be said about Avatar the last airbender? One of the best family TV series to be released (in a very long time), book 2 'Earth' continues the story on from book 1 'Water' (duh)
No reason to put a lengthy plot description here (check Wikipedia instead) However I will say there is a reason this season has won prestigious awards such as 'Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation' and 'Best Directing in an Animated Television Production' among being nominated for many others. The setting and its lore is constant, the characters are involving and complex and the story is so well executed it can be enjoyed by everyone from 10yr old to 80yr old.
Anyway, my only gripe about this is the complete lack of extras or...well anything, you can play the DVD's in a number of other languages (including Dutch, German and French...) but that's it, no subtitles, no behind the scenes or illustrations, art stills or anything, it would have been nice to been rewarded with some sort of consolation for here in England having to wait until now, while America and the rest of the NSTC world have been enjoying these DVD's since 2007...
But regardless, this is still a fantastic collection of episodes, the box is well presented with a pull-out sleeve storing the discs and represents good value for money, if you enjoy any sort of television entertainment you owe it yourself to give Avatar a go, book 2 is engrossing from the first episode to the climatic, surprising finale...
