A good simulation captures the essence of the topic. In a flight simulator you need to feel like flying. And in a tabloid simulator you need to feel the suspense of the hunt for the best story, the competion for the readers and the struggle to get the edge. In this simulator you don't.
You manage the weekly schedule of your reporters and assign them to various leads and stories. But it's no fun. Everything is reduced to numbers: Find the reporter with the right skill, pair her with the story with the corresponding difficulty, research for a couple of turns, set the price and publish ... and do it all over again.
The game is well-designed, though heavily dated, but it just doesn't capture the feeling of tabloid journalism - and that makes it mechanical and without much purpose.
