Amazon.co.uk Review
Sugar Secret Diary is a feature-packed interactive CD-ROM diary, that could be the answer to a teenage girls' dreams. Produced in association with Sugar Magazine, it acts as a place for girls to keep all those things they don't want anyone else to see. In keeping with the secrecy theme, the software installation requires the setting up a secret password, and there is a scrambler button to disguise any text if prying eyes come near while working.
The two key areas of Sugar Secret Diary are the journal and the scrapbook. The journal splits text into personal, school and dreams related matters, and includes a dreams analyser for reference. The scrapbook can accommodate text and imported pictures and is the place to store more general thoughts and ideas.
An address book has space for a photo of each entrant, and information like their star sign and bad habits, and a comments area too. Other features include a horoscope area showing your own chart and allowing you to check your compatibility with other star signs, and biorhythms charting and basic numerology are also on board. A mini card creation factory gives the ability to design and create stationery, letterheads and invitations--the choice is limited, but it's fast and easy to use.
Not all girls are into the kind of secret writing that Sugar Secret Diary allows, but if they are, this is a pretty comprehensive application, offering lots they can have fun with. --Sandra Vogel
