1.0 out of 5 stars waste of money, 29 Jun 2003
By A Customer
I can't believe the previous reviewer was writing about the same product!
My children, ages 4 and 6, who want to learn German and who regard using the computer as a great treat, both hated this and couldn't wait to wriggle away to do something (anything!) else. It seems more like a basic, very limited, phrasebook for an adult learner, it most certainly is NOT aimed at young children and is very wooden and unintuitive. There are far better products out there for anyone.
No matter what you are after, don't bother with this at all.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, 13 May 2003
By LG (Mossley, Lancashire United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
My 6 year old daughter was desparate to learn a little German and I bought this. It is very basic and has no activities to encourage your child. It is also out of date - the currency is Deutschmark when Germany switched to the Euro ages ago!!
It kept her attention for an hour at the most (and this child really wants to learn German)!

5.0 out of 5 stars German for Kids, 18 Sep 2001
By A Customer
My boys do have a very basic understanding of English, although their knowledge of how to navigate computer games far exceeds mine! German for Kids is great fun, easy to find your way and - best of all- easy to get out of and restart another time. The characters are colourful and the animation is entertaining for all ages (my boys are 3 and 8). I would certainly recommend it, especially to schools, who concentrate too much on grammar to start with.
