Like DK's other GCSE study software, GCSE Geography makes for an effective revision package. Its most outstanding quality, however, is the relevance and wealth of visual images--ordnance survey maps, weather maps and symbols, graphs, diagrams, and photographs--that accompany the succinctly written points and advice. While it is not designed to replace text books or facts learnt in the classroom, this CD ROM comes into its own in the "Choose your test" section. Pick from the range of topics, sections, and then categories, select the number of questions you wish to answer (from a maximum of 1,648 questions), specify the time limit, and then practise your exam skills and levels of visual accuracy by answering the questions that the software sets you. --Susannah Steel
