Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Crafted with brilliant colours and the lazy-summer-day pace of the celebrated series, Teletubbies 2: Favourite Games delivers the goods for the toddler set. From the first scene, where the baby-face sun rises across the computer screen, kids will be entranced. Parents will like it too--mostly for the developmental skills the teletubbies teach.

The CD-ROM is based around five games, including "Tuning In," "Gymnastic," and "Making Tubby Custard" (which features appropriately silly sound effects). "Hide and Peep" takes the traditional hide and seek game and adds bright red curtains. "Roly Poly" was a particular favourite; when you click on a teletubby it sends Laa-Laa, Tinky Winky, Dipsy, and Po rolling down gorgeous green hills.

A very big pointer triggers the game's actions, and children should be able to use it easily in developing computer skills. These games also help children to learn how to match (from the hiding game) and create ordered sequences (in the case of the custard game). In addition, the game designers have built in considerate additions for the recommended age group, two to four years old. For example, to quit the game parents need to hit the escape key--a good choice for little fingers that might otherwise click an exit icon by mistake. Charming and colourful--like the television show come to life--Teletubbies 2: Favourite Games will please and delight. --Simon Priestly

Manufacturer's Description

Join the Teletubbies for exercises, create havoc with the Tubby custard machine, play roly-poly down the hill and find the Teletubbies hiding behind the curtains! Plus - watch children at play through the Teletubbies' tummies and then use the Tubbytronic technology to join in the fun. Favourite Games has been designed to be a safe and fun place for children to enjoy themselves.

Children can choose which moves the Teletubbies perform and join in the fun. Touch Toe! Jump! Bump Tummies! Choose your favourite moves. Pick the moves in any order and create lots of funny combinations. In the Rolling game the Teletubbies are at the top of the hill ready to roll. Guide them down the hill towards their favourite things. Stop to look at rabbits, flowers and other objects on the way.

Watch three of the Teletubbies hide behind the curtains. Your child helps the remaining Teletubby find one of the other three. When the Teletubby is found they all get very excited! In the Tubby Custard activity you take over the controls of the tubby custard machine and help the Teletubbies fill their tummies. Press the buttons and move the levers to make lots of tubby custard mess.

The Teletubbies love to receive pictures from far away on their tummies. In this game, children can choose to watch one of five different video sequences featuring real children. At any moment the child can choose to play a game themed to the activity the children in the video are playing.

This is a fantastic production. I was overwhelmed with the visual effects on my kids pentium 1 pc! The games are ideal for young kids pre-reading, there's a great hide-and-seek game (my personal favourite!). Coming from a computing background myself I find this technically fantastic.. if there was one complaint I could make it is that the content is quite small, however, it has still occupied my hyperactive kid for hours and hours. A recommended buy!

When my children were teletubbies age they were too little to manipulate the mouse and keyboard to make these work so I had to do most of it for them
Now there are lots of free online games e.g. cbeebies website - I would go for these and then later on invest in a Wii or a more active activity rather than staring at a computer screen
