Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review
Tech Romancer is you pro-typical-3D-beat'em-up. Based on huge towering robots, rather than just crazy karate experts, this game gives new meaning large robots. The robots are so large, in fact, that the backdrops shown are missile bases or outskirts of cities, and as you battle against many opponents you forget that you've just crushed a couple of tower blocks.

Apart from the idea of fighting with Robots--some of which are made from the likes of cars and boats--the game is pretty much your average beat-em-up with new moves, new combos and new characters to get used too.

Unfortunately this game doesn't offer anything that the others don't. And with such a large array of beat'em ups on the Dreamcast, you're pretty much spoilt for choice with the likes of the Marvel vs Capcom series, the everlasting Street Fighter series and other greats.

If your having trouble with robot envy then this might just be the title for you, otherwise the more grander, serialised beat-em ups are probably more suitable --Stuart Miles

3.0 out of 5 stars A MARMITE FIGHTER, 21 Nov 2003
you'll either love it or hate it.Tech romancer is a 3-D fighter based on gundam-like robot suits. It has a anime-style theme with lots of japanese dialogue, and features Jin [from marvel vs.capcom and cyberbots]as a playable secret character. Its very easy to get used to the controls, but doesn't quite feel like you're even playing a capcom fighting game because the controls are different along with the fighting game engine[very different to street fighter]which makes things a little weird at first. Not a must-have,but if you like gundam wing and robot stuff, you will enjoy it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Japanese Mecha Madness, 17 Dec 2000
By A Customer
If you love the japanese mecha style of things, then this is the game for you. With a cool story for each different robot pilot and cool looking robots too, it's enough to keep u occupied. I good all-rounder from Capcom. Graphics are good and quite smooth.
