Fairly easy to pick up straightaway
it does exactly what it says it does' and more
excellent software can't fault it I've used QuickCAD by Autodesk for many years I upgraded to Autos sketch about a year ago. Autos sketch is exactly the same but better I've used Auto Sketch for many different drawings. Sheet-metal work. And metal fabrication. Layouts for factories. House plans .Extensions. And so on. when you get used to it it's brilliant I strongly recommend this software

I have used Autosketch 9 for a few years and it is superb. It is not only relatively easy to pick up, and intuitive, it is also stable and very powerful for the majority of 2D CAD work. If you do not need industry standard .dwg (AutoCAD) compatibility then look no further. It is only a real shame that it is no longer being developed by AutoDesk, and version 9.0 will be the last version ever released. Still well worth buying though.

Prior to retirement I had Autocad 2010 at my office.
Although I did not produce drawings on a daily basis I was suffucienctly competant to produce basic working drawings and plans.
I had a useful electronic drawing portfolio when I left but did not have Autocad at home and the cost of the commercial package(around £3000.00) was prohibitive.
When I saw the Autosketch package at around £70.00 I thought I would try it as I was still being called on to do survey work for clients.
The functions are very similar to AutoCad but less complex ( much more Microsoft).
Anyone who has had professional CAD training will pick this up straight away but at the same time a novice could equally teach themselves in time.
Ths bonus for me was that I found I could open up existing drawings that were Autocad(any version) amend and save as Autosketch drawings.
This package is excellent value for money.
