IF CUSTOM AIRBRUSHING IS YOUR THING, THIS IS YOUR BOOK!!!, 8 Feb 2004
This review is from: Automotive Cheap Tricks (Hardcover)
I have been airbrushing a while now and slowly building up my collection of books on the subject, this book is by far the best.Covering all types of automobile from cars to bikes(harley and sports)to jet ski to trucks. The book is a very useful tool for any artist giving an in depth look(not to complicated like others) in guns and paint(not like other books that are very bias to they paint brand they use, he does explian that he mainly uses HoK but he tells the reader to experiment till you find a brand that suits you) The step by step guides are very clear and fun, explaining every paint change and brush change, also NOT skipping any of the important pictures(which leave you saying how did they do that?) He explains about his paint shop/team, giving you good ideas for your own and some ideas for a portfoilo for yourself. The book is very colourful, and knowledgable. Cannot recomend enough!!! IN SHORT, if you wanna learn some excellent tricks buy this book!!

The best book on the market for automotive airbrushing, 30 Jan 2001
This review is from: Automotive Cheap Tricks (Hardcover)
I read a lot about this new book. It was not possible to buy it in the Netherlands, so I bought it at amazone. The book gives great ho-to-do information for people like me that do automotive airbrushing. Buy it!! You shall learn new methodes and trucks. I think Craig Fraser is one of the best ( I never met the guy) in the automotive art profession. The book has no difficult text (much photo's) but explains in simple words, great tricks and is not only for professionals. I hope his video's come on DVD soon, I want them in PAL (european) system. Bee Well, keep airbrushing!!!!!!! Eric

Craig Fraser's Automotive Cheap Tricks & Special F/X, 5 April 2000
By Mike Rose - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Automotive Cheap Tricks (Hardcover)
Excellent book! Well worth the money (all the pages are nice glossy paper). This book is extremely useful and comprehensive. The photos and layout are done well, with clear numbering and descriptions. An excellent book for the novice or pro. Another useful addition is the use of a materials list for complex and invovled projects. There are to many projects to list, but some of them include, a full-sized truck graphic layout, torn metal effects, chrome effects, and nebula demostrations. This book is one of the better automotive painting books around.

Cheap Tricks for Cheap!!!, 4 Aug 2001
By PBT - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Automotive Cheap Tricks (Hardcover)
This is one of the best books of it's kind! I absolutely love this book! I've been a fan of Craig Fraser and Jon Kosmoski for years, and they(mostly Craig) have done a wonderful job compiling information and demonstrating various techniques in the field of automotive airbrushing. Though focused mainly on the automotive genre, these techniques can be used in any field of airbrushing!! Craig is one of a kind, and he has been a tremendous mentor to many, and a terrific teacher to "airheads" everywhere. For the price of the book, you will get priceless information! It's well written, informative, and loaded with the coolest tips and tricks!!!

A very good book!, 10 Feb 2004
By Jason A Schofield - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Automotive Cheap Tricks (Hardcover)
I've never airbrushed before I got this book, but I feel like I have a head-start after reading it. It explains things very well, like the many types of automotive paint, and demonstrates the use of stencils and freehand sheilds. He even has a computer that he can make designs with! I always thought everything was done freehand. He also explains and demonstrates how to highlight and very effective use of shading and shadows. He even shows how to do a carbon fiber effect. Very cool! I highly recommend this book. Thanks!
