It is fair to say that when the AA produce a book, on whatever subject it may cover, they make sure that it is done properly. This bird book is no exception. The layout is clear and concise and the illustrations and text provide all the information one is ever likely to need on any of the species that inhabit Britain and Europe.
There have been literally hundreds of of books on birds published in the last couple of years and in the main they are all good. Some of course are better than others, but there is something for everyone. Maybe for instance you prefer illustrations rather than photographs or vice versa, or maybe a mix of the two. The colour illustrations in this book are superb.
This book also goes out of its way to help to differentiate between species that can be easily confused and the comparison spreads used in the book help tremendously with this problem.
