This AutoCAD Lite version is surprisingly not compatible with Microsoft Windows 2000 (and probably not with XP either).

The problem is either with Microsoft's alteration of software drivers for post-Windows'98 compatibility, or the AutoCAD programmers did not design the program with drivers that are Microsoft approved.

This software (which comes with the book) as advertised does not show clearly that it is designed only for MS Windows 3·1 and Windows'95 (which should work for Windows'98 as well)

There is a slightly later version of AutoCAD Lite that I have used that can work with Windows 2000 and XP. It's an excellent little product for the learner beginner, and it's a pity that AutoCAD Corporation's greed does not accommodate for this level of entry.
