A pedantic point perhaps, but Amazon is showing the wrong cover for the 2010-2011 Autocourse. The book I ordered and which just arrived - as superb as ever, even if the price is now far too high in a time of recession - features Vettel in the Red Bull, not Hamilton in the McLaren.

I have been buying this book every year for my son since he was 12 and is now 38. Every year at Christmas it is the one present he looks most forward to. The book is lovely quality and beautifully presented. Worth every penny for the enjoyment it gives.

For years Autocourse has seen off, mainly, inferior rivals. If you want a comprehensive story of the past motor sports season (the focus though is strongly on Formula One) this is the place to go. However, the official Formula One Season Review from Haynes is strong competion and - crucially - is out earlier, well in time for Christmas. I haven't yet spotted the errors referred by a previous reviewer but if that is the case then it would ba a sad case of declining standards. Autocourse's trademark is its accuracy. This year Autocourse celebrates 60 years and there are a few historical features that help it maintain the edge
