If all you do is drive to the gym for a workout and only walk 5 seconds from your car, then this bag isn't necessary. However, this is an insanely good gym bag (easily the best I've ever had), particularly for those who:

- Do powerlifting and need compartments for all sorts of things including isolated pockets for chalk balls
- Martial artists who carry competition gi's and need dedicated pockets for tape, rehab gadgets, their licences etc.
- People who commute a lot by public transport or walk long distances to and from their exercise centre, the backpack straps are a life saver after an intense workout or student athletes/working professionals straight from work.

One thing that is really cool about this bag is that if you carry it by the handles or shoulder strap it looks like a regular sports bag. Unleash the hidden straps and the way everything shifts inside the bag causes it's shape to naturally conforms to looking like a massive backpack. So it doesn't in any way look like you've just simply gone and put a sports bag on your back haphazardly. As for the actual function of the straps, they are very comfortably padded and do the job. I get a lift to the gym and walk 45mins to an hour to get home again, and using a regular sports bag filled with powerlifting/joint rehab gear was killing my shoulders using the normal mono strap.

A caveat regarding travelling with this bag (in my opinion) is that it's not designed to be exposed directly to bad weather. When you wear it as a pack pack, a very large side pocket with a mesh cover then moves to the top and would inadvertently fill with water and most probably soak straight through. As far as I can tell the bag itself is not water proofed as well but none of these things are a problem in my mind.

Very disappointing bag - initially thought it was excellent - nice size, appeared to be well made with quality materials, but after just 11 months of regular use it's falling part. The material has just started to deteriorate with tufts of fabric appearing randomly in the main panels, and along a number of the seams it's just pulled away from the seam. Not just that but the zip for the end pocket has given up and so the zipper is no longer attached to both halves of the zip, and the material down the edge of the teeth has torn making the zip useless.

I train 4 times a week. I throw the bag in my car, into the gym, and back into the car again - yes, it's packed and unpacked 8 times a week, but it should last longer than 11 months. the attached photo shows how this bag has disintegrated over the past 11 months of regular use..

Plenty of pockets for gumshield, tape and all the other bits and bobs, like the separate mesh for the dirty, sweaty training gear

Product is not as large as I expected, I have a pair of shin guards,16oz gloves and wraps in there and they take up most of the space.

Feels well put together

I brought this bag to replace a Karrimor dufflebag I had been using to carry my martial arts equipment. Firstly the bag is allot smaller than I thought it would be. I put two Thai pads in the bag and it was full so I decided to use it as my swimming bag instead and buy a new Karrimor bag to replace the old one. Two swimming trips later the zip broke and after fiddling with it for a while the stitching became loose around the zip and the zip pulled away from the bag. I’ve had this bag two weeks and it is useless.

RDX gear has always been fine before but this bag was a major disappointment. You expect combat gear to be tough however this bag has begun to fall apart after just 3 months of normal use. It has a big rip along one seam and the others are fraying and it's only a matter of time before they go too. My advice would be not to buy this item - £40 for 3 months use is just pathetic.

I started training in Jeet Kune Do in June and I quickly realized that I was going to be needing my own equipment as the dojo equipment was very ahem *sweaty*. This gym bag seemed perfect for what I needed as it would be big enough to store all of my gear and it didn't cost the earth either.

After using this bag for the past 6 months or so I just wanted to outline some of the good and bad point in case anyone else is considering getting one.

The Good.
- Spacious with numerous compartments and pockets for storing stuff. You can really pack a lot of stuff in there if you have to.
- A good price
- Includes a shoulder carry strap (Although I never use it).

The Bad.
- Doesn't have enough space to store weapons (Kali sticks etc). For most people this isn't a problem but it would be nice not o have the sticks poking out all the time, perhaps a strap on the side to attach the sticks to? I'm sure this could be resolved in future products.
- The small pocket on the top isn't big enough.
-Doesn't have a pocket for bottles. This would be a nice idea as my water keeps falling over inside the bag.

Overall these are just my observations of the product. I would highly recommend it to anyone as its definitely one of the best gym bags if you need to store lots of gear.
