5.0 out of 5 stars Aussie Wine History in a Palatable Read 8 Jan 2013
By Tracy Wallace - Published on Amazon.com

Entertaining Australian wine industry read.A great deal of Australian winemaker, vineyard, business, viticulture and consumer drinking trends from the 20s through the 90s. A joy to read without being laden with technical jargon but just like the title states this is a look at wine from a historical perspective not a buyers guide.

Nine chapters that take you through the Aussie wine community:
1)How wine changed Australia
2)In the vineyard
3)In the winery
4)Wine education & research - Women and wine
5)International influence on the Australian wine industry
6)Pioneers-winemakers,regions,vineyards (cooperation & collaboration)
7)Introducing Australian to Australian wine-politics
8)Australian wine business
9)Selling Australian wine overseas
Notes:Major players within the industry (winemakers, distributors, viticulturists etc.)

Recommended reading for beginning through well informed. Since I had read only a few books on Australian wine but not much at all about the business and history side this was a fantastic entry. It certainly sparked my interest for more reading material on this subject that I purchased three more books on the subject by the time I finished the last page.
