Chardonnay introduced us Brits en masse to the joys of Aussie wines back in the '80s. Today's versions are a far cry from the oak laden fruit bombs of the past, altogether more elegant and restrained. And common blends such as Chardonnay and Semillon have given way to ever more adventurous pairings. The Black Stump combines the world's two most popular white grapes, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio, in a wine of thrilling freshness and originality. Winemaker Alan Kennett knows just how to impress - his Black Stump red once won a Trophy Prestige in Bordeaux of all places. So with the benchmark set, he applied his skills to this popular white version. Its delicious flavours go beautifully with roast chicken, fish and chips, and macaroni cheese.
