This is a great book that looks at 12 beasties that you probably wouldn't want to get too close to. It's a really fascinating book that's easy to read and to understand. This is a book that shows that education can be interesting. Along with the text the book is full of fantastic pictures which really bring the subject to life. I highly recommend this book

5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of venomous animals to learn about! 18 Feb 2014

Welcome to Australia - the land of some unique venomous animals!

The Inland Taipan is the deadliest land snake in the world but thankfully this snake is not aggressive! If you are bitten by the Red-Bellied Black Snake seek help quickly but chances are you will survive once you have received the anti-venom. The author also talks about the Banded Sea Krait.

Who likes spiders? The Redback is small but has a nasty bite and it eats its mate after mating! The Australian Funnel-Web Spider can grow up to 2 inches and their fangs can pierce through shoes! Ouch!

Did you know that over 10,00 people get stung by the Blue Bottle Jellyfish each year in Australia?! It is thought that only Sea Turtles are immune to the venom of the Box Jellyfish! Anyone ready for a swim?

A great book full of photos and interesting information. At the end there are 15 Fun Venomous Animal Facts. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED from our house to yours!

Eek! Scorpions and ants!
