About the Author

Bronwyn Bancroft is an Aboriginal artist and designer whose artworks have been collected and shown by galleries throughout Australia and around the world. A descendant of the Bundjalung people, Bronwyn grew up in the small country town of Tenterfield. Since 1993 Bronwyn has illustrated several children's books, including Fat and Juicy Place (by Diana Kidd), Big Rain Coming (by Katrina Germein), and Oodgeroo's Stradbroke Dreamtime.

I purchased this book along with 3 others as I wanted to do some aboriginal art work with patients ( I am a diversional therapist) and I needed a varying degree of designs to give the patients some ideas. This book is so colourful and different from the others, it gives more reminders of the animals we could use in the art rather than technique itself yet I found it a useful book to add to the collection which for art purposes could be useful for other projects. It would be fabulous for children which I would imagine would be it's original purpose.

Bought as a gift it's a nice ABC of Australian animals. The only problem is when you get to K how do you decide between Koala and Kangaroo.
