Le Faye pens short but substantive biography of Jane Austen 24 July 2014
By Blonde Bombshell - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Read the book today in just a few hours, and was quite pleased with its content and length. I've been reading books about Austen (and her own novels) for years now, and am pleased with Le Faye's book, as it still had a lot to teach me. I think anyone interested in Austen would gain a lot from this title. It tells the story of her life in a clear way, with reasonable organizational methods to help the novice with things that make reading Regency era biographies challenging, namely, large families, early deaths, and the resulting multiple marriages. Jane's life was short, but complex, filled with a wealth of friends and family. Le Faye has just the right touch in this slim volume on Austen to shepherd her readers through her life's complexities, enabling every reader to gain a real understanding of the life of this titan of English literature.
