5.0 out of 5 stars The psychology of hope and despair 7 Mar 2009
This film is brilliant, its about hope when all is hopeless. Its about leadership, friendship and group hysteria. Space.....should have brought more water.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Perfect... But Not Bad. 11 Feb 2004
Picked up this DVD cheap, expecting the worst. I was pleasantly surprised by this little indie film. The story follows a group of space explorers making a trip to the new world, Aurora. Things go terribly wrong and our space explorers are forced to crash land. Now, Aurora is not for everyone. It takes its time and is purely character driven (not action driven at all). In short, I was engaged by the story, beautiful photography, nice acting, directing and moving score. And unlike most sci-fi films, I actually felt for the characters and their plight; to survive a four hundren mile trek across the vast arid landscape. Check it out, but remember, the film was clearly produced for nothing and it should not be labled a sci-fi. This is an indie-drama and it's bad at all!

5.0 out of 5 stars Aurora on DVD 4 April 2006
By A Customer
When I first watched Aurora I was glued to it. I could not switch it off. Could it get any worse I thought? BUT the more I saw, I started to realise that was it's charm. The acting is wooden, set laughable, budget clealy very low. It's so bad, it's good. An absolute must for anyone with a bit of imagination! Very enjoyable.

1.0 out of 5 stars One of the worst movies ever made. 11 Feb 2002
By A Customer
This was a truly awful movie. There is no plot, no action, and no characterisation. The dialogue makes you cringe. The acting is of the worst calibre.
There is nothing noteworthy about this film except that it makes you wonder how it was ever financed and made.
If you want to watch a group of unlikable guys walking through a desert for an hour and a half, with nothing at all happening to them, this is the movie for you.

1.0 out of 5 stars OMG Terrible 1 Jun 2006
A friend lent me the film saying it was great (he was joking) and I found it an insult to my back side having to sit and watch this film!!

Everything is shabby at best the acting, script, sets!

Now I lend this out to friends that annoy me just to put a smile on my face!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Character Drama 23 Mar 2004
By A Customer
For a mini-budgeted, independant film, Aurora really isn't that bad. The film's strengths lie within its characters and good story telling. In addition, the photography, acting and direction is quite good. Aurora, however, falls short on action and special effects. This is most likely due to its small budget. With more money, it could've been great, but I do recomend a viewing. For those expecting a big action sci-fi, stay away. This film will not be for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Indie - Gem 29 Mar 2004
By A Customer
Wasn't too sure want to make of this micro-budgeted, indie sci-fi/drama. The film starts off with a series of strange looking landscapes, a man struggling to stay alive and then a bit of action involving a malfunctioning space craft. Soon after, the story transitions to a character drama involving a group of explorers treking across a vast desert world in search of lost supply bunkers. Now there isn't much action in the film, but after a viewing, I couldn't help but get caught up with the characters and the story telling. Not bad for an indie-film, but not for those expecting a bid-budgeted, Hollywood action picture.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Do It!!!!!!! 8 Mar 2014
By Helen B
This is a real stinker, the characters were cliches and the plot went nowhere, we hung on until the end, though having to fast forward through several tracks of endlessly similar landscape, and then the film ended bafflingly. I searched for synopsis or reviews that had a view on the ending and found none, and cannot really offer one of my own, save my pity for anyone else who arrived there feeling similarly cheated. I am so glad I did not pay full price for it...... i had to give it one star to check out of the review but really feel totally indifferent....
