I lost my old Logitec presenter. I wanted to replace it but the model has been discontinued. The model they replaced it with looks very nice and even has a programable timer (to give you warnings when you want them) but it has the screen blank button below the forward button. I was worried about accidentally pressing it, and there were several complaints along these lines from users.

So I took a chance and went for this. It is indeed an almost exact replacement for the discontinued Logitec. It is an almost perfect presenter (as long as you don't need mouse control). The case it comes with is actually better than the logitec one. This one has room for a usb drive. The one thing that is worse than the old presenter is the timer. As before you can only set it in 5min intervals, which I don't find to be a problem but could be for some people. The old presenter would warn you at 5 min, 2 min and 0 min to completion. This new one vibrates every minute starting at 5min to completion. I find that this is too insistant -- it makes me nervous.

But otherwise it is a very good presenter and selling at a very good price.

I'm in general happy with the product. It seems to be the best presentation clicker in this price range that comes with an LED timer. I rate it three stars because I feel it has a critical flaw: You HAVE to remember to switch it off after using it, otherwise it will eat through your battery in a day.

This is definitely not state of the art. My wireless keyboard and mouse can go months and months without a change of battery, and they don't even have an off switch.

Having said that, I would choose this device again, since it has all the features I want. In other words, while this product might be far from perfect, all the others that I looked at were either worse or a lot more expensive.

I had minor trouble getting this to work with Ubuntu, since the 2.6.37 kernel update broke support. The device is misidentified as the "YUREX leg-shakes sensor device", which shares the same USB id. This is not the company's fault, and can be fixed by using an older kernel version or waiting for a patch.

I am a college lecturer and found that when students have to give a presentation with power point or word then this works great. The USB receiver slots into the hand held device so that it does not get lost (when you remember to remove it frome the computer of course) It has a good laser pointer on it. The best thing about it is a timer which times down. Perfect when my students have to do a 10 minute presentation. Once it gets to 5 mins it vibrates in your hand, then every minute after that it vibrates. Only one problem is that after it has vibrated at the last one minute it doesn not vibrate when it gets to zero so each time it vibrates the student has to have a quick glance at display then carry on. Easy to navigate forward and backward through presentation using the left and right arrow key. It has a couple of other fuctions but I have not had any need to use them as yet.

I lost my old Logitech remote which I found indispensible, and after looking into dozens of different makes I concluded that although this apparently identical replacement is looking a bit old fashioned now, it's still the only one with all the features I want...

- Compact, with a nice tactile finish
- Laser pointer
- Easy to set timer with vibrate alerts (this one does it on 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 minute to go)
- Well laid-out buttons to avoid accidental presses
- Volume control
- Black screen on/off
- Built-in storage of USB dongle
- Full Mac compatibility

Everything else I looked at fell short on one or more of those. The only reason to mark it down by 1 star is that the build quality isn't quite up to previous Logitech standards. I don't know if August have rebranded some B-stock left over when Logitech changed designs (and in the process missing out key features for me!) or whether they bought a bunch of Logitech components, either way it's just not quite as solid feeling as before. 4.5 stars would be fairer because I think it's still the best.

I had the original logitech but lost the USB section. This one is the copy but works OK. Doesn't seem to be a fast as the Logitech and seems rather plasticky in the casing. Overall is does have the same functions and does the job. The casing is rather bulky compared to Logitech one. Would still recommend buying it as it is rather useful having the blackout screen button which other presenters don't have.

I bought this one as replacement for my lost Logitec remote. Unfortunately it turned out to be a cheap!!!, probably Chinese copy of the Logitec which looked absolutely identical.
While my Logitec worked without any problems throughout a large lecture theatre, this one only worked reliably within a distance where I could still reach the keyboard. As soon as I moved 2 or 3 metres away from the USB dongle, it was a continuous trial and error exercise. Sometimes it moved the slides on without problems, sometimes it would not do anything until I switched it off and on again and sometimes it would move 20 slides at a time.
Very disappointing, I hoped the discontinued Logitec had been continued under a different name but it obviously is a different quality in a very similar casing.
I eventually returned it to Amazon for a refund.
