The August DTV350C plays crystal clear Freeview TV in the palm of your hand. Using its high quality 3.5" LCD screen you can also enjoy video files directly from USB sticks or Memory Cards, or use it as an MP3 player for listening to your music collection. Its advanced receiver can produce a perfect transmission at motorway speeds, which combined with a 3 hour battery life, make it ideal for long journeys, by train or by car.
AV out means that you can use all the features of this model on a full size TV, giving you a large screen multi-media player in the comfort of your living room. Perfect for holidays, commuting or watching TV in bed, the DTV350C is a versatile little device.

Please note: there may be difficulties in receiving TV signal with the telescopic antenna in some regions at present. This is due to the Freeview service (see freeview.co.uk website) not yet being fully operational throughout the UK. The reception will improve along with the progress of the Switchover.

I bought this item with the intention of fixing it to a treadmill to provide a distraction whilst racking up the miles. It didn't disappoint...
1. The screen is nice and bright and easy to see (no glare issues) providing a sharp picture on the 3.5" screen. Good stereo sound through the headphones, although the speaker is a little on the weak side.
2. Freeview reception is excellent when fed by a high gain aerial on the roof.
3. Video (AVI) file playback is excellent - I've watched a couple of TV programmes on it with out any problems. The file browser is basic but very easy to use.
4. MP3 playback is very good, although I've not found a shuffle option so far, which would have been a nice function to have.
I've not had much success in picking up any Freeview stations with the telescopic aerial or the small plug in aerial provided, but that's not really a concern for me as I'm using an external feed.
In short, it's a great little TV and media player for the price and if you're clear about what you need it for (for example attaching to a piece of gym equipment) and can plug it into a high gain aerial you won't be disappointed. It falls short of a 5 star rating as the small aerials aren't great at picking up stations, but to be honest I've not seen any Freeview portable TVs that have faired much better so far.

this so called hand held tv does not recieve tv programmes unless it is plugged in to a normal aerial.
when i rang their customer support ,they told me portable means easy to carry, not easy to view programmes anywhere.
so i asked if i cant recieve a signal,what is the point of me buying this item.the reply was,you can plug this item in to any aerial socket when on your travels and watch tv.I then replied if that is the case there would already be a tv there ,or do they leave aeriel sockets hanging around just for your tv's
i have also tried to play dvd's with the sd card ,the result being that some will play the video without sound and some play sound and no video
anyway i am not impressed with this item

Hi, I bought an august 3 an half inch tv with the hope of using it in the car as i have to wait for my son while he does boxing..i was so excited to set it up and give it a go thought how nicely it was pass an hour and half sitting in car...well much to my dissapointment could not even get a flicker of a picture where i had to park so drove around still trying to find somewhere i may pick something up...no luck i am afraid..the only place i can recaive any pictures is in my bedroom at home..not even around the rest of my house!!!it does say will not work the best in low signal areas but didnt think where i live came into that catogory..so now i am stuck with a mini tv which cant be used..must say though when you do get it working it has a lovely picture but the sound is very low...
