I thought it might be fun for Christmas to give a few of my friends a photo keyring customised with a few pictures from nights out, etc. I was looking for about 10 key rings in total. There are several digital photo key rings around so I bought a couple of different makes (towards the cheaper end of the range) to see what I was getting for my money.
Firstly I will say there was no problem with the supplier. It arrived on time and was well packed. However, even if the keyring itself was free, it would be overpriced. It looks and feels cheap. When you plug it into your pc, the software loads and the keyring "boots-up" and you can then, relatively easily, load photos onto it. So far, so good. However, once disconnected from the PC, it is hit or miss whether it will power up. Furthermore, the picture quality is very poor (I didn't expect it to be great, but I thought I'd be able to recognise faces!). I've tried mucking about with photos and resolutions but with only limited improvements.
Yes it is cheap, but, unless you don't mind the fact that it will be in the bin by boxing day, it's really not worth the money. I've opted for the Pebble TFT ones, the picture clarity is still a little variable and so you need to select suitable pictures, but at least it looks and feels like it cost a couple of quid (even if the translated instructions are a little strange e.g. "under the Picture Browsing Mode...shorttime press the menu key...respective namely"!).
