The August DA900C is an ultra slim and stylish portable TV with both digital and analogue tuners. Capable of receiving over 40 Freeview channels, the 5 analogue channels and all the digital radio stations.
The integrated card reader and USB port make it a powerful multi-media player supporting video, music, and photo playback directly from a memory card or USB stick.
Real-time and scheduled Freeview TV recording functions give it the versatility to act as a PVR, enabling the recording of programmes onto a USB stick or external hard disk (FAT32) for future enjoyment.
The AV out means that you can also output TV, video and photos onto a large sized screen in your home, bringing Freeview and multi-media content to your living room. Whilst AV in allows it to be used as a monitor for your games console and other video players.

Please be advised that Freeview reception is affected by various factors such as your proximity to a transmitter, tall buildings, thick walls, ceilings, weather etc. We advise that you connect the TV to a rooftop aerial for the initial channel scan, after saving the channels you can then use the receiver in different locations to test the signal strength. To improve reception, a portable aerial with signal booster may help; we recommend the August DTA225 and DTA245.

I saw a review of this 9 inch tv on Sunday Times and thought this would be the ideal set to replace my 14 inch CRT in the kitchen. I was really pleased with my choice when I opened the box. The tv is in a shining black finish, very sleek and modern design, and it saved a lot of space for me in the kitchen.
The picture quality is unbelievably good for such a small unit. It can receive both analogue and freeview tv, but I only use the freeview function. It struggled to get the freeview channels using the small antenna supplied but no problem at all when connected to my house aerial.
The recording function is really amazing, you can record your favourite programme and watch it later on this set. I am going to buy an external hard drive so I can get more use of this function. The tv can also be used to show photos from the card reader and usb connection, it actually looked more like a photo frame when I first time saw it as it is so slim and compact and does not look like a traditional tv at all.
Overall, this is really a clever and brilliant device, very good value for money. And I look forward to spending a lot of time with it.

Amazon Verified Purchase
Despite reading some negative reviews on the reception capabilities of this unit, I decided to go ahead with the purchase (going to use house aerial anyway).
Plugged the house aerial into the unit and then continued to tune in the channels perfectly with very few problems.
Then tried it on the supplied portable aerials in my office, which resulted in very (very) poor reception. It's not the fact the reception in the room is poor, as my little 3" casio picks up the major channels, suggesting it must be the 'August'.
I've yet to run a lead through for this tv, but judging by the upstairs reception, it should do the job I want. Also sounds a bit tinny, but I already knew that it would and it isn't as bad as I thought it would be.
It's early days but overall, I believe it is going to be worth every penny. Just be prepared to spend a bit more on setting up a decent aerial.

On reading people's reviews on these brilliant little August tv's, the sound quality is poor, but help is at hand!!! if you purchase a resonably priced(say around £15.00) 2+1 sub woofer & speakers and connect them to the headphone jack on the tv.....WOW what a difference..... and whats more you still have control of the volume through the tv's own remote control switch, try it it worked for me.
PS. This will also work on any make of digital tv no matter how big or small, the only suggestion I would make is the bigger the tv the bigger the 2+1 you will need but you don't need to spend to much money,this will also work (with a little extra wiring) on Sky and Freeview receiver box'es as well.
