Product Description

Product Description

August DA920A is high quality digital and analogue TV designed for you to watch Freeview TV where the signal is strong (a rooftop aerial should be used in some regions) and receive traditional analogue channels in most areas. It should be an ideal TV for Kitchen and bedrooms.

With an optional external battery box (supplied separately with 10x2500mAh rechargeable AA batteries at £22.49), you can watch TV while boating, camping, at beach or in your garden.

It can transfer Freeview TV to a larger screen TV as a set-top box, display pictures as a digital photo frame and also be used as a high quality monitor for a video player and game console.

August 9.2" Digital Freeview & Analogue TV with VGA - Tipped by What Plasma & LCD TV and ERT Magazines and a Winner of Autumn Awards 2007 of What Home Cinema Magazine.

Please note that there may be difficulty to receive freeview TV signal by the included portable antenna in some areas where the signal is not sufficiently strong. This is due to that the freeview service (www.freeview.co.uk) in the UK does not fully support portable TV antenna at present. The reception will be improving along with the progress of Digital Switchover Program (digitalUK.co.uk). A signal amplifier or booster may improve reception capability in regions where the signal is marginally strong. (Please note that reception capability may also be affected by various factors such as proximity to freeview TV/digital radio transmitters, tall building structures, thick walls, ceilings and etc.). A rooftop TV aerial may be required at present to watch freeview channels in regions where the signal is insufficient for a portable antenna.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent model of digital TV, 1 May 2007
I bought this TV for my kitchen and very pleased for the quality of picture and sound. I selected this model because the height is good for installation purpose while other models is too "tall" to fit into the shelf. Thanks for digital and high definition technology. I could not image that this TV can produce such a sharp and clear picture and robust sound from such a small unit.

The portable TV antenna works but not terribly reliable. I understand this is the signal problem not TV. The reception becomes reliable and excellent once I connected the TV to a One for All TV antenna with amplifier.

It is certainly a good choice and I am very happy what the TV does

3.0 out of 5 stars Great TV rubbish sound, 22 Jan 2008

(REAL NAME)
I can't fault the TV, the amount of options and adjustments is more than is needed but the one adjustment that was left out was for the tone, the sound is dreadfull, i've even tried covering the speakers with foam to take away the tinny sound but there is so little base that it only reduces the volume. The only reason i have kept it is because it fits a hole and i can't find anything else that will.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice, but no Teletext, 22 Feb 2008
This Television installed the digital channels itself automatically without any difficulty, same for the analogue stations. The screen size is excellent on the desktop here where a 14" screen would have been way too large.

The only negative factor is that despite the remote control and the handbook describing Teletext reception, I couldn't receive it at all. An e-mail to the supplier has just now disclosed that this set doesn't support teletext apparently.

It is a brilliant TV, I am really pleased with it. It can tune both analogue and freeview TV channels. Sharp picture quality, smart and slim design, perfectly for my caravan.
