The ATH-ANC1 QuietPoint headphones deliver natural sound and luxurious silence in a highly compact on-ear design. The fold-flat headphones incorporate Audio-Technicas acclaimed active noise-cancelling technology to block out up to 85% of outside noise, while delivering clear, detailed and natural sound. The active noise-cancelling circuitry is located in a handy external module attached to its connecting cord, for extremely lightweight on-ear wear. Although compact, the headphones deliver powerful, immersive sound, thanks to their precision high-efficiency full-range drivers and premium internal components. Theyre ideal for use with the Apple iPod, iPhone and iPod touch, portable music players, computers, in-flight entertainment systems and many other devices.

I've been using this headset for about a month at the time of writing, and they really are good. They don't cancel out quite as much noise as the Bose QuietPoint 3, but for the price it presents a way better deal. The cushions are very soft and mold quite well to the ears without feeling much pressure. I can easily wear these for several hours. Since the cushions mold to the ears, they do feel a bit warm after a while so that could perhaps be of some discomfort if using these in high temp climates, but very nice when it's cold outside.
The headset folds quite well without the construction feeling flimsy. There aren't any cushions on the headband, so if you don't have hair that might be something to think about. These headphones are lightweight, and the compartment that holds the on-off switch, battery and the noise cancelling circuitry is also lightweight. The placement of the compartment on the cord keeps it quite close to my mp3-player, and long enough for a person of 5'11" to keep in the trouser pocket, if you don't want to use the clip-on to fasten it to your shirt or something. The battery life is truly excellent, after a month of using the noise cancellation for maybe 2-3 hours a day I'm still using the battery that came with the headset!
The noise cancellation works even if you're not using a music source, and you can use the headset without the noise cancellation as well, which is to be expected but not always found on comparable noise cancelling headsets. All in all, one of my best purchases this year.

Bought these headphones as a christmas present for myself and have used it on a number of occasions both in quiet and very noisy environments (in-flight,house full of noisy toddlers). I am very impressed with the noise canceling abilities leaving a beautifully balanced sound to enjoy. With little hair on top I would have appreciated a bit more padding but nevertheless: Great value for the price.

I recently used them on a UK to Australia flight and they worked well for the money. They didn't mask all of the engine noise but they made a noticeable difference - around 80% if I had to estimate. All in all they're well worth the price though I have never tested more expensive headphones against them.

Very good headphones
