Finally, there is now a serious alternative to the BOSE noise reduction headphones......
Having tried MANY NR phones , these and the BOSE have been the only ones that dramatically reduced the ambient noise levels.
Other lower priced phones, just did not come anywhere close, on paper at least you would think that any two NR would cut out the same amount of noise, but actually the differences are vast.
With the ATs, just like the BOSE, when you switch on the NR circuit it is like someone has placed 2 cushions over your ears......lower priced phones by comparison simply just cut out a little low freq. sound, the difference is huge, which is why BOSE keep on selling their phones at the £ 300 price range.
So to sum up, these are 100% as effective as the BOSE in reducing noise, they are seriously effective and dramatic in this dept.
Sound quality ? V.good, tight non boomy bass, and nice clear sound, less artificial sounding than the BOSE, but either would be more than good enough for the intended application ( Planes, trains, cars, coaches etc )....none of these phones are true high end audiophile quality, for that look at open back Sennheisers, or similar....
In terms of effective NR, these are on the same level as BOSE and SONY MDR-NC5000 phones.
Value ? Simply excellent, at 40% of the BOSE price, and offering identical NR and possibly better sound quality too, these are a relative bargain......Take a look at the Sony 5000 models too, they offer excellent NR too, but the sound isnt as good as the ATs.
