These headphones are closed back, that means the driver is fully enclosed so there is minimal noise lost to the environment. This means you can use them on public services or anywhere else with minimal/no disturbance to the people around you. However this also means you are locked out from your environment so you won't be able to hear anything coming or going.
I bought these to replace a set of broken sony mdr-v700 headphones. Initially the quality was about the same and I was disappointed that I had spent so much money so have sound slightly better. I decided to give it a few days of intensive use and see what it was like after a week.

Massive improvement after a week, they were reaching highs and lows with clarity I'd not heard before in headphones. Months after use they were really performing well with a large variety of music and they sounded totally different to how they did when I first got them.

They can be driven by portable devices such as ipod's with ease and will also sound fine on a desktop. When driven by a headphone amp they sound slightly better and presenting instruments together but you don't need one to use these and enjoy them.

There are a few things to note, the first is that they fold flat so can be stored with ease. The headband strap is very strong and if you don't adjust them properly can make your head hurt. Finally, is the cable is quite short so If you do things from a distance from your music source you will need an extension cable. The cable while flexible is very small and will be the first thing to break if you are too rough with them.

So all in all these are a great investment for portable and stationary audio devices, capable of providing audible enjoyment under pretty much any situation. While they sound great to start with they sound amazing after they have been used for a while.

Nice Headphones 29 Dec 2009
Me and headphones do not get along harmoniously. I must go through about 6 - 7 pairs of cheap bargain basement pairs per year, so eventually I decided to shell out and buy something decent.

So, after months of deliberation and research I decided upon these. In the end it was between these and the Bose on-ear Triports.

I didn't want to write the review straight away because I think it would be a biased opinion. So a few months down the line, after i've worn these headphones in, these have surpassed the life of most of my current headphones and are still performing superbly.

These headphones have a HUGE frequency range (5hz - 30,000hz) providing heavy unrestricted bass, and sweet mellow highs, on the 42mm drivers. These are no skullcandies. There are no words to describe the sound of these headphones, they have to be experianced.

I was worried when I bought these about the cable strength, having read a few reviews concerning this, but i was suprised with the durability of the cable, having dropped the ipod a few times, run over the cable with the office chair and things like that the cable is still fine.

Build quality in these headphones is second to none. I've worshipped the shiny backs of the phones and they haven't gotten too scratched, although they'll have alot of finger prints on them by the end of the day.

To conclude, these headphones are definatly a good buy if you are looking to buy a great quality pair of headphones and an affordable price. Definate Bose killers.

I spent a lot of time going through all the options for 'on-ear' headphones for my Classic ipod and finally plumped for these- and am very glad that I did.

The most annoying part of choosing headphones is that, unless you happen to have plenty of friends who own a wide variety of headphones, it is nigh on impossible to try out the various options in a shop due to, I am told, 'hygiene issues'.

Therefore, I was almost wholly reliant on Amazon reviews and, as a result, almost ended up with the Sennheiser PX200 ii. I'm sure they would've been fine but, for just an extra £20, these won the battle and I believe it is money well spent.

I listen to a lot of Thrash and Death Metal and wanted something that could give me deep bass and could handle the 'crunch' without breaking up or, the worst result, letting everything amalgamate into a formless mush with a tinny drum sound- separation of the tones and being able to hear the different instruments is very important to me; from the splashiest hi-hat to the lowest bass rumble, I wanted it all!

And these headphones are matching my desires so far- a good tight headband keeps the cups glued to my ears, ensuring a concentrated sound- a sound which is full and thick while letting the details shine through, even from the relatively low quality mp3s of an ipod.

Maybe, if I had the cash, I would get an even better sound from some insanely expensive audiophile's dream headphones, but, for under £100, as I managed to get these, I'm not sure I could possibly have done any better.

One final pro and con though- con: the lead feels like it might not be that hard wearing but, obviously, only time will tell on that- pro: the packaging is wonderful and gives you a sense of confidence and excitement even before you plug the phones themselves in- half the battle won!

Heartily recommended, whatever style of music you listen to!
