Book Description

To grow and remain vital, churches need to attract families. But the cultural landscape has changed and any church may have two-parent families with children, blended families, boomerang families, adult children of divorce and their families or lack of families, single adults whose family is the church, grandparents parenting again, childless families, co-habitation families, and children with three legal parents.

What ministries are helpful in attracting and keeping families active and engaged in the life and mission of the church?

This book will help church pastors and leaders navigate the changing tides in ministry to become the kind of church that families want to attend, where the church’s dynamic faith invites families who may then bring their friends. This means reaching out to all kinds of families, some with needs that only a church family can fulfill.

With practical helps and suggestions for ministries, worship, small groups, and even facilities, author and family expert Linda Ranson Jacobs will help you create a welcoming place for everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow! What a great book! A "must-read" for all church leaders! 15 May 2014
By Joseph F. Northcut - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Linda Ranson Jacobs nailed it. I am so excited that someone has finally and clearly written a book that gives a great plan for building a ministry to families that includes "all" kinds of families (two-parent families with children, blended families, boomerang families, adult children of divorce and their families or lack of families, single adults whose family is the church, grandparents parenting again, childless families, co-habitation families, and children with three legal parents).

Linda does a wonderful job in answering the question, "What ministries are helpful in attracting and keeping families active and engaged in the life and mission of the church?" The book is very concise and clear, easy to read and understand, and practical, ready to implement. This book will help church leaders to effectively reach and minister to families in their communities. Great book! I highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars A "MUST READ" book for church and ministry leaders 8 Aug. 2014
By James L. Cruise - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
A "MUST READ" book for church and ministry leaders. Most church leaders don't understand all the diversified types of families floating around these days. This book not only explains who these different types of families are, it shows the church how to reach out and communicate with them. A valuable, valuable book for those churches wanting to grow and reach those families outside their church walls.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Exceptional Resource 1 May 2014
By Gail Showalter - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Every pastor and church leader should read this book. As I read it I kept hearing myself saying, "Yes!"
Linda has the background and experience to say it like it is. She also includes facts backed up with research.
We must stop ignoring the issues and face the facts.
If you church is, like so many, losing ground buy this book. Share it with a pastor. Give it to a leader. Talk about it.
It is an easy read and filled with common sense that all of us "churched" folks need to be made aware of and do something about.
She shares the answers.
