For imprinting on five to 10-year-old minds the fates of famous names such as the Minotaur and Midas, this audiobook cannot be bettered: Simon Russell Beale's gentle and musical voice enchants, then startles as he erupts into the rough-hewn shouts of sailors, the cackles of the Gorgons, and the bellow of Zeus.
