About the Author
Knife and Packer are an author-illustrator team who bring a distinctive sense of style and humour to fiction and non-fiction. For children, they have created the Captain Fact series, as well as several other books. Their cartoon strip "It's Grim Up North London" regularly appears in Private Eye and they frequently contribute to Guardian Education and BBC History Magazine. They both live in London.

"There is a competition to make the most disgusting gloop. Two children, Gerald and Gene, enter it, but they don't know that the man they send their gloop to is an evil criminal mastermind, Professor Baaad. In the morning their gloop has grown into a monkey called Fleabag Monkeyface. He has superpowers, like Banana Breath and Supersonic Earwax, which helps him destroy Professor Baaad's inventions.
It's a great book, with lots of details. The pictures are extremely good, and the book is very funny. Once I'd started it I couldn't put it down. It's a very funny book. I would recommend for about 8 to 11 year olds."

My seven year old son really liked this. It is actually really fairly disgusting - lots of jokes about bogeys and earwax - but then that's what little boys like, isn't it!? so did I when I was his age.
The good thing is that its really well written and full of fun drawings - it even has a little "free" cartoon strip at the end which is a nice touch. My boy doesn't much like reading but he really got into this book, and for that I am greatful!!

Foul and funny !!
Gross, juvenile humour !! Kid's (nephews only, to test them on) love these books. Short doses corpse adults too.
