His playing has influenced the course of rock and roll and had an impact on many of modern rock's current guitar heroes, including Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, Jimmy Page and especially Stevie Ray Vaughan. His early music bridged the gap between '50s rockabilly and the psychedelic blues-rock of ... Read more in Amazon's Lonnie Mack Store

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect pace, taste and exciting with it 2 Aug 2002
Format:Audio CD
Mack is little known in the UK, and sadly so. He fits perfectly into the Alligator blues sound, but less funky and more rocky than some. The band are on top form and Mack cuts mustard all the way through. All this and live versions of Stop and Satisfy Suzie too.
Heartily recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars guitar legend 18 Dec 1999
By Tim From Cincinnati - Published on
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
those who dispute the influence that lonnie mack has had on the evolution of rock and blues music, need to kick back, listen to this cd, readjust, and just admit...that lonnie is indeed a guitar legend...his signature flying v, powerful and soulful vocals, and solid song writing will go down in music history as a candidate for the rock and roll hall of fame....this cd proves he never lost his desire or licks, he is merely tuning up for another attack...long live lonnie mack....

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorites 18 Feb 2005
By David G. King - Published on
Format:Audio CD
I've owned this CD for many years, and it's one of a handful that's always on the play list. Probably not a month goes by when I don't listen to it once. Phenomenal guitar, a lot of energy, and excellent sound quality for a live performance. Mack is one of the great guitar players and makes it all seem effortless. My favorite track is Stop, but I pretty much listen to the whole album every time.

lonnie mack is a guitar genius with an incredible singing voice, too!.....this cd is live and it is great....everyone who likes blues/rock should have this cd in their collection.....lonnie single-handedly bridged the old style of rock guitar playing with the new style back in the 60's; he is a national treasure!

5.0 out of 5 stars My vote for Best Blues CD Ever! 22 Sep 2002
By A Customer - Published on
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Do yourself a huge favor. Buy this CD and play it loud and often. My tastes tend to lean toward progressive rock and classical music, but this CD scratches an itch that few can reach. Stop has got to be one of the greatest blues rock songs ever. For those keeping score at home:
Songwriting A
Singing B+
Musicianship A
Energy A
Listenability A+
Roll over Beethoven, Maestro Mack is on the podium!

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh!!This blues is killing me!! 8 Mar 2001
By Ricardo Neves Gonzalez - Published on
Format:Audio CD
It's an uncomprehensive situation, the fact that this tremendous guitarman is still at the underground for many rock'n roll & blues fans all over the world. This cd is for me,one of the best rock/blues "Live" albums ever released! Stevie Ray Vaughan was his most important disciple, and it's clearly along all of this marvellous cd.An incendiary, set of powerful good music at "Live"way!!! This album is really one of my favorites!!!
